Meet Victoria Decker

Victoria is a smart, creative and caring 14-year-old autistic girl. She is an advocate for inclusion and diversity.
She is a student, athlete and an aspiring author with unique abilities from Orlando, Florida. Victoria loves music, Maroon 5 is one of her favorite bands, she also loves to travel and learn about different cultures.
Although Victoria has the ability to say some words and even some sentences, it’s through a letterboard that she expresses her ideas , shows her learning, understanding, reasoning and thoughts. Since 2014 She uses an academic based method called RPM. As far as her education, currently she has her own educational model, personalized, broad and flexible where it’s main objective is to collaborate, disperse and transform ideas.
She has participated in the Special Olympics Florida gymnastics and swimming competitions. Currently, Victoria is training to join the Special Olympics Florida triathlon team.
Victoria continues to break barriers and stereotypes, while consistently overcoming obstacles in her path. She continuously strives to change others perceptions about what is possible. In Victoria’s words she wants you to:

Vision Statement
We envision Victoria living a fulfilling life of choice and having a strong sense of belonging in a life of interdependence.
We envision her living a meaningful life surrounded by people who love and support her while having relationships that she feels are valuable.
We see Victoria learning, growing and thriving in a supportive environment that encourages her, believes in her potential and presumes competence.
We believe she is a strong, capable, intelligent and determined person and we hope she will be presented with educational opportunities with her peers. She will graduate with a regular high school diploma prepared for college if she so desires.
In Victoria's coming years we can see her developing the skills necessary to have a profession that she both enjoys and gives her the ability to contribute to her community
